Elektro Guzzi ist eine österreichische akustische Techno Band. Beeinflusst vom Detroit Techno spielen sie in der klassischen Band-Besetzung Gitarre/Schlagzeug/Bass. Ihre Intention ist, einem eigenen Ansatz in der ansonsten Sample basierten elektronischen Musik zu folgen. Nach fünf Jahren Probezeit erschien 2010 ihr Debütalbum Elektro Guzzi beim Berliner Label Macro. Als Produzent fungierte Patrick Pulsinger. Elektro Guzzi präsentieren Weltweit ihr neues Album "Parquet". Wir freuen uns auch hier in Chemnitz in den Genuss zu kommen. Toy ist eine 8 köpfige Kombo aus Leipzig. Einige Mitglieder zeigten ihr Können schon in der Band Gammalapagos, die es leider nicht mehr gibt. Toy spielen Hits (a.u. von Aphex Twin) der Elektronischen Musik.

ELEKTRO GUZZI

Live performances of electronic music have gone a long way since the
seminal decision of a few men from Düsseldorf to leave their Krautrock
beginnings behind and to become machines. Since then, the list of
successors is epic and technologically refined in the process: from the
musicians who on stage incorporated electronics into their post punk
aesthetics to today's laptop PAs blurring the lines between performance and
DJ set in a club context. Of course the evolution of according concepts also
proceeded in reverse, with electronic musicians implementing their sound into
traditional band structures, and performing their music as modern
interpretations of the latter, combining the sounds of the according analogue
and digital equipement.
Taking all this into consideration, Elektro Guzzi from Vienna are none of the
above, which is exactly why Macro didn't hesitate to sign them. Though their
sound most certainly suggests that Bernhard Hammer, Jakob Schneidewind
and Bernhard Breuer also decided to become machines, they strangely
enough don't use any (it took several confirmations in mails and personal
meetings and a rehearsal video to convince that they don't).
As digital as they may sound, they couldn't be more analogue, producing and
performing with the most classic of all setups: bass, guitar, and drums. But
however traditional they may look as a band, they certainly do not sound like
one.
Elektro Guzzi are not interested in exploring their minimal and dubbed out
soundscapes in long epic jams, where coincidental ideas born out of
improvisation are the unofficial band member. Elektro Guzzi are interested in
structure. They produce and perform like any modern electronic producer and
performer wanting that every element of a track is exactly where it is intended
to be. There is no computer backup material they prepared earlier, no loops
and things, no overdubs. However hard it is to believe, what you hear is 100%
live.
The Band startet in 2004, taking five years to shape their skills before ever
entering the studio. This may explain why they have been one of the few acts
so convincing that they got a tour of Japan and appearances at Barcelona’s
Sonar and Berlin’s Berghain booked before any recording was even
promoted.
As fascinating as the resulting music already sounds on their debut releases
for Macro (produced by Austrian legend Patrick Pulsinger), the band is
perfectly able to bring it on stage. There, they connect the hypnotizing force of
their analogue techno with the visual treat of a band doing it all right in front of
your eyes. You hear it, you witness it, and you dance.

Electric Suicide Club, für diesen Namen müsste es eigentlich schon einen Preis geben. Aber auch die Musik der drei Franzosen ist mehr als vielversprechend, denn die gerade mal knapp zwanzig Jährigen haben bereits verstanden, wie man jede Menge Dreck, Energie und trotzdem Melodien in einen Song packen kann. Hier bleibt kein T-Shirt trocken und kein Körper unbewegt. ESC leben und lieben ihre Musik und müsste man ihnen einen Stempel aufdrücken, so käme dieser aus dem Hause von The Hives, den frühen Bloc Party aber auch Refused. Krachiger Indierock, der auf den Konzerten begeistert und kreischende Zuschauer hinterlassen hat!

Welcome a new band to our roster: TEPHRA. Tephra hail out of
Germany. They have been around since 2003 and previously released
two full-lengths. On 18th February 2011 we`ll release their new record
entitled “Tempel” on CD/ lim. LP/ DIgitlal.
Eight brandnew songs clocking in with 48 minutes of experimental rock.
The group has chipped away from their sludgy doom-metal, broke
barriers and replaces their heavy breakdowns with sophisticated riffs
taking their carrer a leap forward. This is by far their most technically
diverse, dynamic and complex album.
In the three years since their last record, this band dropped their
keyboard player and supplied their Neurosis-influenced heavy doomrock
with a versatile, unmistakable portion of energetic groove grounded by
their head-nodding rhythym section. „Tempel“ brings you eruptive noise
that will certainly push most speakers to their breaking point.
The band is moving from a more ordered to a less ordered state with
every record. This is not to suggest the band has lost skill or focus, but
rather that they use their knack for cacophony to cover a greater
breadth.
„Tempel“ is epic without bombast. It's an orchestral wall of sound that is
equally as entrancing as it is unnerving. Their approach to the perpetual
change from bone-crushing to more quiet passages makes them
distinctive and unique.

Vuk (a.k.a. Emily Cheeger) is a Finnish-American artist based in Helsinki and New York. She creates lush, mysterious sonic tapestries and organic, bare-bones chamber music from a pump organ, autoharp, multi-layered voodoo percussion and, most recently, Indonesian gamelan instruments. Live she is backed by a band including Johanna Tarkkanen on keyboards, Juho Alajuuma on percussion, autoharp and guitar, and Janne Lastumäki on drums.
Her album, “The Plains” (Pyramid, 2009) won her rave reviews in Finland and abroad, and helped her tour extensively in Europe and the U.S., notably as the hand-picked opening act for Fever Ray’s 2009 U.S. tour. She has also shared the bill with other kindred spirits such as Owen Pallett, Dirty Projectors (of which she is also a former member), Swans, Tamaryn and Efterklang.
Vuk already played a bunch of important Festival such as Eurosonic, Iceland Airwaves, Flow Festival, Great Escape and the Wroclaw Poetry Festival.

PS: »Keiner kann sagen, dass ich Esbjörn Svensson nicht gehört hätte oder Bands wie The Bad Plus – aber für mich gibt’s immer noch mein früheres Leben: Leute wie Steve Reich oder Bang on a Can, natürlich höre ich auch gerne Radiohead oder Snow Patrol oder Coldplay.« Daraus ergibt sich der ungewöhnlich wandelbare Sound einer akustischen Jazzband. Da ist mitunter die konzeptionelle Strenge, mit der zeitgenössische Piano-Trios die Loop-Energie moderner Popmusik aufnehmen, doch dann mischen sich die schwebenden Klänge des Vibrafons darunter – und zwar nicht als zusätzliches Solo-Instrument, sondern als Erweiterung des Klangraums: »Melodie. Es muss Melodie geben. Das fehlt mir zu oft im Jazz«.

“Es tut gut, wenn Harmonie und Jazz zusammenkommen. Wenn dabei das Resultat nicht im Latte-Macchiato Schaum der bessergestellten Tapas-Bars versinkt, läuft etwas richtig. Triozean schufen auf ihrem zweiten Album „Nocturne“ neun ausschließlich eigene Charakterstücke. Diese werden getragen von Piano, Drums, Bass (1x Saxophon als Gast), allesamt umarmt von einer Popästhetik, dezent aufblitzender russischer Seele und deutlichem Willen zum Groove. Die kompositorische Stärke der Titel wird vor allen in ihrer Vielseitigkeit von Einflüssen, improvisatorischen Passagen und einer nicht zu verleugnenden romantischen Ader im Pianoklang bewirkt. Aber wehe es kommt jetzt jemand mit dem Begriff Instrumental- Romantik-Pop-Jazz daher. Der bekommt an der Bar erst einmal ordentlich Zigarrenqualm ins Gesicht geblasen und den besten Whiskey des Hauses in die Hand gedrückt. Die Leichtigkeit mit der das Trio frohlockt ist erschreckend. Jedes Stück macht eine neue Tür im Herzen auf und überzeugt mit einer Vielzahl von Ideen und Details ein Sammelsurium von Stimmungen, welche immer vom Zusammenspiel des Trios und der Kraft der Arrangements zusammengehalten werden. Das dabei eine in sich geschlossenen Sammlung tonaler Gemälde zwischen gemütlicher Sesselatmosphäre und feinmotorischer Gelenkstimulation entstanden ist: ein Kapital der Musiker. Vielseitigkeit in einem Guss ist Trumpf. Nicht unerwähnt bleiben soll, nein müssen, die Livequalitäten der Band. Was von CD das Herz zu öffnen vermag, nimmt Live den ganzen Körper mit. Triozean zelebriert eine kleine Nachtmusik, die auch bei Sonnenschein wunderbar zu genießen ist.”
