Vielleicht ist es der Wunsch\,\neine gemeinsame Sprache zu finden. Eine\, die intimer\, poetischer\, genauer oder\nvager sein kann. Die sich weiterentwickelt\, so wie die\, die sie sprechen. Geprägt\nvon Begegnungen\, immer im Entstehen. Im Fall der vierköpfigen Zürcher Band\nDistrict Five und ihren Mitgliedern\, Vojko Huter\, Paul Amereller\, Tapiwa Svosve\nund Xaver Rüegg\, trifft dieser Fall zu: Seit über zehn Jahren begegnen sich die\nMultiinstrumentalisten im Proberaum und darüber hinaus\, spiegeln in der Musik\nsich selbst\, ihre Freundschaft\, ihre Einflüsse und Erfahrungen. Das Resultat ist ein\nWerk\, das in Bewegung bleibt. Mal Jazz\, mal Pop näher\, manchmal weit davon\nentfernt\, aber immer nah bei sich selbst. Die Band verleiht den Freunden\nHandlungsfähigkeit\, die man auch als Agency beschreiben könnte: um das zu\nreflektieren und zu gestalten\, was wir das Leben nennen. \n– \nThere can be many reasons for forming a band. Perhaps it is the desire to find a\ncommon language. One that can be more intimate\, more poetic\, more precise\, or\nmore vague. One that evolves\, just like those who speak it. Shaped by\nencounters\, always becoming. In the case of the Zurich-based four-piece band\nDistrict Five and its members Vojko Huter\, Paul Amereller\, Tapiwa Svosve\, and\nXaver Rüegg\, this proves to be true: the multi-instrumentalists have been meeting\nin the rehearsal room and beyond for over ten years\, reflecting on themselves\,\ntheir friendship\, their influences\, and experiences in their music. The result is a\nwork that keeps on moving. Sometimes closer to jazz\, sometimes pop\, sometimes\nfurther away from it\, but always close to itself. The band gives the friends the\nability to act\, which could also be described as agency: to reflect on and shape the\nthing we call life.
